About THE JON SHELL TRIO
Jonathan has been singing his heart out since before he could walk. He has been a professional singer since before puberty - the public was introduced to Jonathan in the 1996 Feature Film "Pinoccio" and accompanying Soundtrack along side Stevie Wonder and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. ~~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~~ The Jon Shell Trio was formed in 2015 and has been going strong since. Jonathan has been writing music for the past 15 years and finds writing to be a cathartic experience.
Jonathan is joined on stage by the incredible Patrick Taylor on bass, whom Jonathan met while the two were studying music at the Thornton School @ USC. Rounding out the Trio is another USC Alumnus Mac Sinese on Drums.
On backup vocals the lovely Sarah Gurian who has been singing along side Jonathan in various choirs for decades.
Jonathan's formal education was at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California.
NAMES FROM THE PAST
Jonathan Shell is the band leader for his Trio, the Jon Shell Trio. Joined by incredible bassist Patrick Taylor and phenom Jazz Drummer Mac Sinese. The Trio attended The Thornton School of Music, Jazz Department at the University of Southern California starting in 2006.
Our first almum, Names From the Past, recorded at the Block of Joy and Exposition Studios in Los Angeles, 2015.
